Practice Incentives.

Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) offers financial incentives for family doctors either newly graduated or experienced looking to practise in the City of Kawartha Lakes. KLHCI’s incentives are funded through the City of Kawartha Lakes. We have joined with the municipality to ensure that an attractive and competitive package is designed specifically for each individual family doctor.

Family Practice Incentive Package

KLHCI offers the following incentives upon the signing of a four year Return of Service agreement and the extent to which the family doctor enters into a comprehensive family practice. KLHCI is committed to working with family doctors to tailor these incentives to suit your needs. To discuss any of these incentives further please contact us.

Family Practice Office Grant

KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for expenses incurred in the set-up of a family practice during the four years of the agreement.

Family Practice Office Rent Grant

KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for office rent to the family doctor following the first year of the agreement.

Professional Fees Grant

If a family doctor joins a practice with existing infrastructure, i.e. Family Health Team, KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for professional fees in the first year of the agreement.

Relocation Costs

KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for relocation costs to the City of Kawartha Lakes during the first year of a Return of Service agreement.

Continuing Medical Education

KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for Continuing Medical Education expenses in each of the second, third and fourth year of the agreement.
