KLHCI Family Practice Incentive Package


Whether you are a newly graduated family physician or an experienced family physician looking to relocate, there are a variety of incentives that the Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative (KLHCI) is able to provide. KLHCI believes these incentives will facilitate the transition to practice in the City of Kawartha Lakes more attractive. 

The Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative is funded by the City of Kawartha Lakes and the Ross Memorial Hospital. We have joined forces to ensure that an attractive and competitive package is designed specifically for you and your family.

Incentives offered are dependent upon signing a four-year Return of Service agreement and the extent to which the physician enters into a comprehensive family practice.  KLHCI is committed to working with you in order to tailor these incentives to suit your needs.

Family Practice Office Grant: KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for expenses incurred in the set-up of a Physician’s family practice during the first year of a four year Return of Serivce.

Family Practice Office Rent Grant: KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for office rent to the Family Physician at the completion of the first year of a Return of Service agreement.

Professional Fees Grant:  If a Physician joins a practice with existing infrastruture, i.e. Family Health Team, KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for professional fees in the first year of a Return of Service agreement.

Relocation Costs: KLHCI will provide reimbursment, to an agreed amount, for relocation costs to the City of Kawartha Lakes, during the first year of a Return of Service agreement.

Continuing Medical Education: KLHCI will provide reimbursement, to an agreed amount, for Continuing Medical Education expenses in each of the second, third and fourth year of the Return of Service agreement.

Office Set-Up Consulting: KLHCI will assist the Physician in setting up a family practice office.

Medical Office Equipment: KLHCI has some medical office equipment that is available for use at no cost.

Community Incentives: In the City of Kawartha Lakes there are businesses offering physicians a friendly and welcoming arrival through a variety of community based incentives.
